Big mass in Sagrada Familia basilica to honor Barcelona attacks’ victims
Catalan president, Carles Puigdemont and the Kings of Spain, among the attendees
The Sagrada Familia, one of the top highlights for tourists visiting Barcelona, became a place for tribute on Sunday morning. The famously unfinished basilica hosted a big mass to honor the victims of the terrorist attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils last Thursday. The Catalan president and vice president, Carles Puigdemont and Oriol Junqueras, attended the ceremony, along with their Spanish counterparts, Mariano Rajoy and Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, and the Kings of Spain, Felipe VI and Letizia. Barcelona archbishop and cardinal Joan Josep Omella officiated the event.
