Thousands of Barça Femení fans celebrated the third Champions League trophy in Barcelona on Sunday evening with the players in an official ceremony in the Plaça Sant Jaume square.

Many gathered to see the footballers in the city center for an official welcome by Catalan acting president Pere Aragonès and Barcelona mayor Jaume Collboni after Saturday's UEFA Women's Champions League final in Bilbao.

Players spoke and chanted from the Catalan government headquarters' balcony to the thousands of fans supporting the football team.

The captain of the team, Alexia Putellas, who was also one of the scorers in the final in Bilbao, thanked the fans for all the support throughout the team's career and showed the newly won cup.

"We have it here again," she said, referring to the fact that this is the third time Barça has won the Champions League.

Meanwhile, the crowd shouted the name of some players like Mapi León, who could not play in the final due to injury, or Aitana the player who scored the first goal in Saturday's match against Olympique Lyonnais.
