8 out of 10 people would avoid buying a house on the coast because of rising sea levels
Effects of climate change on housing worry women more than men, according to survey
Eight out of ten people would avoid buying a house on the first line of the coast because of rising sea levels and the possibility that it would affect the property.
This has been revealed by a new study carried out by real estate platform pisos.com.
The study points out that the effects of climate change on housing are of more concern to women than to men.
Some differences by age group are also pointed out. Some 61% of Gen Z respondents would prefer to buy a home in the north of Spain to live in a cooler area, while for the baby boomer generation, the percentage drops to to 43%.
The report concludes that young people increasingly take location into account when buying or renting a property.
