Man with Alzheimer walked out of hotel room Monday morning
Scottish traveler David Moore who was missing since Monday morning in Barcelona, after flying for vacation with his wife and two friends has been found on Tuesday afternoon.
"He has dementia, Alzheimer, he is very confused and thinks he's in Edinburgh," Donna McCarron-Flynn, one of his friends, told Catalan News ahead of him being found.
Moore was found resting in a bus stop by a woman whose father has Alzheimer so "she has experience" and went to look for the Scottish man after seeing the news on Facebook, sources close to the case told this media outlet.
The 65-year-old left his hotel room at 4.30 am on Monday from near the port of Barcelona. He is currently on his way to the hospital as he has not eaten since he went missing.
Before he was found, McCarron-Flynn was worried as he "doesn't know how to use a phone and is not able to ask for help."
"He cannot communicate well as he forgets words. David is partially deaf and is not wearing his prescription glasses," said David's wife, Christine Moore, who got in touch with this media outlet.
