The Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police are aware of around 200 victims of ticket scams for one of the four Coldplay concerts the band performed in Barcelona from May 24 to 28.

So far, there have been 52 complaints filed, as first reported by the Spanish newspaper El Periódico and later confirmed by the Catalan News Agency (ACN). However, police are aware that many more have been scammed and could even reach the 300 victims, many from Catalonia, but also from Spain and from around the globe.

Mossos explain that victims bought tickets from two people who had a social media profile that resembled the one of an influencer and seemed to have credibility.

The two users sold passes multiple times, and many social media users have raised their concerns on Twitter.

Police saw the different issues and deployed a unit near the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys stadium to look for more victims that were not able to enter the premises.

One of the scammers sold tickets for €110, and police believe he earned around €5,700, and the other one at around €140, gaining €7,000.

Mossos suggest that tickets be linked to a name and be bought using official channels to avoid being scammed while they call for more victims to file complaints.

Four detained for selling special Coldplay passes

Catalan Mossos d'Esquadra police detained four people on Thursday for selling special passes, bracelets, and authorizations to access Coldplay's concerts.

They are accused of scams and forgery of documents as they would say they were part of the organization and would look for victims in the area surrounding the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
