UK begins proceedings to decide on Catalan leader's extradition
Spain sends complementary information for extradition order described as "confusing" by Ponsatí's lawyer
The United Kingdom has begun proceedings to decide on former Catalan education minister Clara Ponsatí's European Arrest Warrant for her role behind the 2017 independence referendum.
An arrest warrant was sent out for Ponsatí, a professor at Scotland's University of St Andrews, on Wednesday, but British authorities claimed the extradition order lacked "essential information," for which Spain's Supreme Court judge Pablo Llarena sent further clarification on Friday.
Ponsatí's lawyer Aamer Anwar, who has described the complementary information as "confusing" and full of "contradictions," says that "it now seems that she's being accused of disobedience rather than sedition."
According to Anwar, Ponsatí will report to British authorities in Edinburgh on November 14.
