Supreme court rules in favor of Puigdemont, dismissing Russian plot case
Spain's National Court ends terrorism investigation into Tsunami Democràtic organizers

Spain's Supreme Court has closed the case against former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont and Junts per Catalunya MP Francesc de Dalmases for the alleged Russian plot linked to the Catalan independence push.
The court noted that the case was referred to it due to the political status of the two politicians, following a reasoned report from Judge Joaquín Aguirre, who was investigating the case at the Court of Barcelona.
Given that the Court of Barcelona had already dismissed the charges against the other individuals accused, the Supreme Court ruled it must do the same.
The ruling also stated that "the reasoned report does not describe any actions that could be considered criminal."
Tsunami Democràtic terrorism case
Spain's National Court has definitively dismissed the terrorism case against the organizers of pro-independence protest group Tsunami Democràtic, including prominent figures like Puigdemont and Marta Rovira, citing procedural errors.
The last appeals filed by all the parties involved have been rejected.
"The individuals under investigation did not have the opportunity to effectively defend themselves before the conclusion of the investigation, which inevitably leads to the dismissal of the proceedings," the court wrote in a ruling leaked to Spanish newspaper El País and obtained by the Catalan News Agency (ACN).
