Spanish PM defends Spain's 'commitment' to Iraq's security during visit to troops
Pedro Sánchez met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani
Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez reaffirmed Spain's "commitment" to the "unity, sovereignty and stability" of Iraq during a visit to Spanish troops in the country.
In a joint appearance with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani, Sánchez also expressed gratitude for the country's "efforts" to protect international soldiers deployed in the region amid rising regional tensions.
The Spanish PM again condemned the "tragic situation" in Gaza. "We reject the death of civilians, especially children," Sánchez said alongside Al Sudani.
Sánchez will also hold talks with the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Raixid, and visit Spanish troops deployed on a NATO mission at the Union III base.
