Laura Borràs, MP in Spain's Congress, remains party's candidate for presidency
Former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont will head JxCat's electoral list for Barcelona in Catalonia's upcoming February 14 vote.
The MEP tweeted his decision on Wednesday evening, stating that he would "help Laura Borràs become Catalonia's first female president."

This move is yet to be approved by the pro-independence party's members.
Puigdemont was the Catalan president at the time of the 2017 independence vote and has been living in exile since late October of that year.
