Spanish PM to testify in wife's corruption and influence peddling case on July 30
Pedro Sánchez will speak from government headquarters, wife is under judicial investigation
Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez will testify from the government headquarters on July 30 in his wife's alleged corruption investigation, as announced by a judge in Madrid on Monday.
He is called as a testimony in the alleged corruption and influence peddling judicial case of his wife, Begoña Gómez.
Sánchez, who also leads the Socialist party, will speak at 11 am.
On Friday, July 19, Gómez appeared in court in Madrid but did not testify.
When the first information on the case appeared, Sánchez temporarily halted public duties for five days to rethink his future in the top spot.
After those days, he said, during a televised speech, that he would continue as PM as it was the only way to fight injustice "with more strength."
