Official C2 level Catalan courses to be gradually expanded this year
Unions and entities will offer more than a thousand new places in 2025
The Catalan government's Department of Language Policy has announced that it will gradually expand the offer of C2 level Catalan courses taught by the Consortium for Linguistic Normalization (CPNL) this year.
In addition, the government has reached an agreement with unions and entities to offer more than a thousand new places during 2025.
The Catalan executive considers that the measure ensures a "more flexible" training offer that will "progressively" increase the frequency of courses.
At the same time, it adds that the agreement begins "a wider stage of collaboration" between the ministry, entities, and unions to facilitate access to learning the Catalan language.
The first new courses will begin in April, and the CPNL will expand the offer of C2 level courses throughout the territory.
The Consortium will also coordinate and certify the courses taught by the unions and entities.
The Minister for Language Policy, Francesc Xavier Vila, highlighted the “direct impact” of the increase in the offer of courses.
He also assured that the initiative reinforces the use of Catalan in the professional field and guarantees that it is “a language of opportunities.”
