The three pro-independence MPs whose presidential bids were blocked by Spain are still the candidates for the post. This is what a spokesman for their candidacy, Junts per Catalunya (JxCat), said from Berlin, after MPs travelled to the German capital and met with their leader, Carles Puigdemont, on Wednesday.

Although Puigdemont himself, along with jailed MPs Jordi Sànchez and Jordi Turull, were barred from being sworn in as presidents in the past few months, Junts per Catalunya did not discuss nominating a fourth candidate for the post.
