Government denounces Spain's failure to invest half of budget planned for Catalan rail network since 2010
Presidency minister says figures are "insulting" and warns they are "far" from agreement to back Sánchez for PM
The Catalan government has denounced Spain for only investing half of what it had budgeted for the train networks in Catalonia since 2010.
According to a report presented to the executive council by the ministry of business and finance, the Spanish government failed to invest €3.639 billion that was part of various spending plans for public companies Renfe and Adif between the years 2010 and 2021.
Out of all of Spain's investments planned in Catalonia that have not been carried out since 2013, 72% corresponded to projects related to the Rodalies commuter train network.
"These are insulting figures," Presidency Minister Laura Vilagrà said in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Vilagrà insisted that the complete transfer of control over the Rodalies network from the Spanish government to the Catalan government be part of the negotiations to support Pedro Sánchez's Prime Ministerial bid. She added that they are "far" from an agreement.
