Full list of 15 population groups who will receive Covid-19 vaccine released

All population groups living in Spain will be able to access the Covid-19 vaccine eventually, as the Socialist-led government has made clear in the past few days and as confirmed by its health minister on Friday, when he announced a list splitting all inhabitants in 15 groups.

Minister Salvador Illa did not release the full order of the list, but the first phase of the vaccination will include 2.5 million people from January to March, including health professionals, care home users and people with serious disabilities.

The scheme has three phases, with the second one between March and early June, as the number of doses available as part of the EU joint purchase scheme is expected to "increase progressively."

The third one, including the last groups in which the whole population has been split up, will unfold in the summer months. 

In a press release on Friday, he announced them in this order, clarifying that this did not necessarily mean that this was the order of priority: 

•  Health professionals (1st phase)

• Care home users (1st phase)

•  Over-64s

•  Largely dependent people living at home (1st phase)

•  People at risk of Covid-19

•  Those working or living in closed places

•  Vulnerable groups for socioeconomic reasons

•  Those employed in essential services

•  Education staff

• Children

• Young people (over 16)

• Adults

• People living in places affected by outbreaks

• Pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers

• Those already immune
