Yoga, walks and vermouth among almond blossoms

Hundreds of people visited almond groves in Arbeca, western Catalonia on Sunday to appreciate the blossoms while doing activities such as cultural walks, yoga and or simply enjoying some food and drink. 

This year's weather has meant that most of the almond trees in the area are not yet in full bloom, but some are displaying the characteristic white and pink flowers. 

The morning began with a 10.6km culture trail, followed by a yoga session and then "doing a vermouth," when visitors had the opportunity to try food and drinks from a dozen local producers. 

Activities continue in Arbeca and nearby Castelldans throughout the month, with the almond trees expected to fully blossom next week, according to Jaume Setó, president of Garrigues County Council.
