Wintry landscape in the Pyrenees after season's first snowfall
Vehicles must use snow chains on C-28 in Port de la Bonaigua mountain pass

The Pyrenees awoke to wintry landscapes on Friday morning after Thursday night's temperature dip meant the northern Catalonia mountain range saw its first snowfall of the season.

Vehicles driving through the C-28 Port de la Bonaigua mountain pass must use snow chains at 1,800-meter altitudes or higher.

La Molina ski resort in Cerdanya county will open on Friday afternoon to let visitors get a closer look at the snow – but they will still have to wait for now before they can go skiing.
