Rosalía takes home four prizes at Cannes Lions Awards
Singer wins big at coveted creative communicating and advertising industry event
Rosalía made an impressive impact at the Cannes Lion International Festival of Creativity on Wednesday when the Catalan artist collected three awards for her project 'Rosalia Motomami Live Experience' and another for the event 'Spotify presents: FC Barcelona x Motomami'.
An annual festival that recognizes and celebrates marketing and advertising strategies from various industries and sectors, the Cannes International Festival of Creativity takes place in Cannes, France in a multiple-day event that features live judging of work submitted, tours of the works, and a number of informative sessions and panel discussions. This year, it takes place from 19-23 June.
The ‘Rosalía Motomami Live Experience’ took place over the social media platform TikTok on March 17, 2022 before the release of her album MOTOMAMI on March 18, 2022. Over 4 million users tuned into the TikTok LIVE performance which saw Rosalía perform all 16 tracks from the album.
On Wednesday this event won three awards from the ‘Entertainment Lions for Music’ category. Gold for ‘Community- Fan Engagement/Community Participation’, silver for ‘Branded Content for Music- Excellence in Music Video’, and bronze for ‘Partnerships- Partnerships with Music Talent’.
The 'Spotify presents: FC Barcelona x Motomami' event entailed FC Barcelona’s men and women’s teams sporting a new jersey with the MOTOMAMI album logo in their game against the Real Madrid sides. An in-app Spotify experience also allowed fans at the game to share their top 5 Rosalía songs on social media.
This collaboration aimed to connect athletes, artists, and fans and the effort to do so was awarded a bronze award from the ‘Entertainment Lions for Music’ category for ‘Community- Fan Engagement/Community Participation’.
