Montjuïc’s Magic Fountain stopped for one month for maintenance
Barcelona’s Magic Fountain of Montjuïc will stop working from this Tuesday until the 6th of February for maintenance reasons and also to improve its lighting and sound features. During this period of time, new colour LEDs will be installed along with a recirculation pump and two webcams while the sound system will be improved. The Magic Fountain, which attracts 2.5 million visitors each year, closes after several busy weeks, during which it offered Christmas carols and traditional music to tourists. It also played a part in New Year’s Eve festivities or the celebration of the Three Wise Men’s arrival in Barcelona.
Barcelona (ACN).- Barcelona’s Magic Fountain of Montjuïc will stop working from this Tuesday until the 6th of February for maintenance reasons and also to improve its lighting and sound features. During this period of time, new colour LEDs will be installed along with a recirculation pump and two webcams while the sound system will be improved. The Magic Fountain’s 44 basins and four waterfalls will also be cleaned and checked for preventative maintenance. Along with the basins and pipes, each one of the 600 mirrors located inside the fountain and used for the light effects will be cleaned and disinfected. The Magic Fountain closes after several busy weeks, during which it offered Christmas carols and traditional music on weekends in December as well as on the 1st, the 3rd and the 4th of January 2014. The fountain, which attracts 2.5 million visitors each year, also played a part in special operations such as the New Year’s Eve festivities or the celebration of the Three Wise Men’s arrival in Barcelona.
The Magic Fountain will resume its musical and colourful display on the 7th of February each Friday and Saturday evening until the 30th of April. Montjuïc’s Magic Fountain attracts around 2.5 million visitors every year, and has become one of the Barcelona’s most iconic symbols throughout the world.
