Chef Ferran Adrià turns elBulli1846 into an Airbnb for one night
Two visitors to be invited to sleep in iconic restaurant for free
World-famous chef Ferran Adrià is opening the doors of his former restaurant, elBulli, for two people to spend the night there.
The restaurant closed its doors in 2011 and reopened as a creative center in 2014.
In 2021 the restaurant transformed into elBulli1846, a museum dedicated to the history of the Michelin-star restaurant.
ElBulli had three Michelin stars and was only open for six months a year, using the other months to develop a new menu.
Pushing creative boundaries
In collaboration with Airbnb, Adrià will welcome two guests to sleep on a bed inspired by his famous spherical olive dish, a liquid green olive.
The unique free stay will combine art, history and culinary innovation, taking place from October 16-17.
"Now I'm excited to push new creative boundaries, to share this way of seeing the world with the guests who stay here and to introduce them to our latest chapter as elBulli1846," Adrià said in a press release from Airbnb.
The free stay includes meeting Adrià, unlimited access to the elBulli space, dinner at Adrià's favorite restaurant and another dinner in Barcelona from the second-best chef in the world, Albert Adrià, brother to Ferran Adrià.
People can request a booking for the elBulli1846 Airbnb experience starting on April 17.
