The famous Barcelona pastry shop, Pastisseria Escribà, by Catalan pastry-maker Christian Escribà has created a piece of white chocolate shaped like an ear inspired by Trump's assassination attempt on Saturday. A decision that became very controversial.

The pastry shop wanted to give a humorous twist to the news about the shooting that took place in Pennsylvania, USA.

The chocolate ear has been available since last Tuesday, after Pastisseria Escribà announced on Monday through social media.

Christian Escribà appears on a video pretending to shoot at someone, after that a girl is shown holding her ear and later, she proceeds to show the white chocolate ear, which she takes a bite of.

In addition, a poster is shown afterwards which features USA's flag and has 'Ear Repair Services' written on it.

Escribà received numerous comments on social media criticizing a lack of sensitivity by the company.

After that, the pastry decided to take down the video and it can no longer be found online. However, the product is still for sale and can be purchased for €4,50 in the two pastry shops that the company has in Barcelona.

On an interview with Catalan radio Rac1, Christian Escribà commented that the idea was originally "a joke between him and his friends." He created one ear because he already had the mold from other baking projects, but his friends insisted that he should put it up for sale.

Christian Escribà even thought about adding some kind of strawberry jam to represent blood, but he quickly dismissed the idea as "it would look too gore."

The pastry-maker is known for making jokes about difficult situations in the past, like when he had his shop broken into and he uploaded the schedule online "so people knew when to go."
