Circuit Festival, one of the world’s largest gay events, kicked off in Barcelona on Thursday. Running until Sunday next week, the program includes more than a dozen parties featuring top international DJs as well as cultural activities such as art exhibits and screenings.

Between 50 and 60 thousand people are expected to attend this year’s edition of the festival, adding up extra visitors to the tourists already visiting the city these days.

Businesses in ‘Gaixample’, a zone in Barcelona’s Eixample neighborhood known for its gay-targeted fashion stores, barbers, and hotels, expect to see their sales grow by 30-40%.

According to stores, the economical impact of the Circuit Festival includes 350 direct jobs as well as 200 indirect ones.
