A sunny Sunday with temperatures of around 30ºC could push many Barcelona residents to enjoy the day at the beach, but others had a different plan in mind: to dance for hours.

Barcelona’s Brunch Electronik bid farewell to the 2023 season with thousands of attendees of all ages dancing along to U.S. American DJ Honey Dijon and London-based DJ La La on Sunday afternoon.

Brunch Electronik has a maximum capacity of 7,500 people, but even though the event reached capacity on Sunday, it was hardly a packed crowd. The various options of dancing areas, bars and numerous bathrooms resulted in a well-organized event.

Attendees danced for hours, as the one-of-a-kind event started at 1 pm for the youngest participants and kept going until 10 pm for the older ones.

While most dance clubs in Spain stay open well past 10 pm, the early end-time of Barceleona's Brunch Electronik is ideal for those looking for a Sunday afternoon event that allows them get home early enough to get some rest before heading back to work on Monday morning.

Electronic music festival-goers are often considered disrespectful by residents, but that's not the case for this event.

Kids and adults

The Petit Brunch offered many outdoor activities and workshops for children and allowed the entire family to enjoy electronic music for hours.

It was at 4 pm when Klara Missyle and Jazz K took to the stage and the party started for the older attendees.

La La followed, and the crowd went ecstatic, with Honey Dijon playing for nearly two hours on a stage in the middle of the event space, surrounded by dancers.

Throughout this last season, the Brunch Electronik event changed venues often, making its rounds across the city. The outdoor area of Barcelona’s La Maquinista shopping center was their farewell location.

The Sunday goodbye, however, felt more like a “see you soon” than a proper send-off; that's because the music event will return to the Catalan capital next spring. If you like electronic and techno music, Brunch Electronik should be on your bucket list.
