Barcelona's Shôko and Opium among world's top 10 nightclubs
Hï Ibiza wins prestigious nightlife award for fifth year in a row
Barcelona's Shôko and Opium are among the ten best nightclubs in the world, according to the prestigious The World's 100 Best Clubs.
Shôko Barcelona, located in the Olympic Port on the first line of the bay, is ranked seventh, two places down from last year.
Opium Barcelona, side by side with Shôko, has ranked ninth, also two places lower than last year.
The list is once again topped by Hï Ibiza, which has won the prestigious award for the fifth year in a row.
Brazil's Green Valley came in second, a huge leap from last year's sixth place. Third place is also taken by an Ibizan nightclub, the iconic Ushuaïa.
26 Spanish clubs in Top 100, seven in Catalonia
Spain is the country in the world with the most nightclubs in the Top 100 list with 26, nine of them in Ibiza.
Barcelona has five nightclubs in the top 100 list, including Shôko, Opium, Sutton, Sala Apolo and Bastian Beach.
Two other Catalan cities have a nightclub on the list: Lleida, with Club Biloba in 81st place, and Salou, with Tropical Salou in 84th place.
The ceremony of the Golden Moon Awards was supposed to be celebrated in Valencia, but it was canceled due to the deadly floods.
The organizers of the ranking have also launched the solidarity campaign Nightlife Stands With Valencia.
