2024 saw 68 new titles added to the VDJOC database of Catalan-language video games, bringing the total to 242.

Created in 2020 by the Catalan Language Policy department, the platform aims to showcase and promote video games available to play in the Catalan language.

Each entry in the database includes links for access or download, details about developers and distributors, supported platforms, PEGI ratings, and genres.

Currently, 185 studios offer Catalan-language games.

Action-adventure games are the most popular genre in the catalog, accounting for a quarter of the titles (80).

Other popular genres include puzzle games (50), arcade (47), platformers (32), simulation (30), and sports (23).

The VDJOC data has been made publicly available to support businesses, organizations, and the public in creating new products and services that drive innovation, add value, and open business opportunities.

The gaming sector presents significant growth potential for Catalan-language products. According to the 2023 Cultural Participation Survey in Catalonia, only 6.7% of gamers in the region have played video games in Catalan, highlighting room for increased adoption.
