SNCF adds extra daily high-speed train between Barcelona and Paris in summer
Route stops in Girona, Figueres, Perpignan, Narbonne, Montpellier, and Nîmes, among other stations
The French public rail operator will add an extra high-speed train connecting Barcelona and Paris, reaching three during the summer months.
The extra train will be included from July 6 until September 1 to answer the question of the increase in the number of traditional passengers during the summer.
The route is solo operated by TGV Inoui, the brand of SNCF, that connects both capitals and stops in Girona, Figueres, Perpignan, Narbonne, Montpellier, and Nîmes, among other. Passengers reach Paris Gare de Lyon from Barcelona in 6 hours and 45 minutes.
During the spring, SNCF had already scheduled three daily high-speed trains on Saturday and Sunday and last year.
Renfe, Spain's public rail operator, still has not launched its operations to connect Barcelona and Paris, as they had expected in the past. Their plan was to be able to reach the French capital with their trains ahead of the summer Olympic Games, something which will not happen.
The French company started covering the route alone in December 2022, after they terminated their shared service for the same connection with Renfe, their Spanish counterpart.
