TV show festival brings together international and national creators in Barcelona
Succession creator Jesse Armstrong among guests at Serielizados Fest
The 10th edition of Serielizados Fest – a festival celebrating the joy of TV series – got underway on Tuesday in Barcelona's Sala Phenomena.
From October 17 to 21 in Barcelona and from October 24 to 28 in Madrid, TV show premieres and exclusive showings will take place, as well as talks with international and national guests like Jesse Armstrong, the creator of the hit show Succession.
Spanish and Catalan guests will be presenting their shows at the festival, like Mar Coll and Aina Clotet, directors of Això no és Suècia, a dramatic comedy which touches upon the contradictions that young parents encounter when raising and protecting their children. The show was filmed in Catalan, Spanish, English and Swedish.
Another series premiering in Serielizados Fest is La Mesias, created and directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, and there will be a screening of the last season of Fear the Walking Dead.
The festival will also pay homage to a popular Catalan show that celebrates 30 years since its creation: Oh Europa, from Dagoll Dagom.
Streaming
As well as the two in-person editions of Serielizados Fest, the first episode of 42 international TV shows will be available from October 17 in the streaming platform Filmin as part of the online part of the festival.
Among these exclusive shows, there is the Iranian TV series The Actor, Jack Thorne's new show The Virtues and the French politic comedy Sous Contrôle.
During the celebration of the festival, there will be a special focus on Quebec. Attendees will be able to see various Québecois shows such as L'air D'aller and Martine à la plage, promoted through the collaboration of Serielizados Fest with the Office of Quebec in Barcelona.
