The Wailers, Patti Smith, Joan Baez among top artists at Porta Ferrada festival
The 57th edition of the musical event on the Costa Brava will feature some 40 concerts from July 7 to August 20
This year's Porta Ferrada music festival in Sant Feliu de Guíxols on the Costa Brava promises to "the most eclectic" ever, featuring such top acts as The Wailers, Patti Smith, and Joan Baez.
The 57th edition of the popular music festival will take place from July 7 until August 20, and will include some 40 concerts, with 28 of the featured acts attending the event for the first time.
Other big international names so far confirmed to play at the festival are American jazz singer Melody Gardot, veteran English pop band Human League, and Argentine Queen tribute band God Save The Queen.
Acts from Catalonia and around Spain include Manolo García, Els Pets, and Joan Dausà, along with Marea, Tomatito, Manuel Carrasco, Luz Casal, Amaia, Melendi, Beret, Rosario, and José Mercé.
According to the festival's artistic director, Albert Mallol, this year's event will be the "most eclectic ever" and aims to be "open" to all types of music lovers. Some 48,000 tickets will go on sale, for between 18 and 78 euros.
