Salvador Sunyer, director of the festival, explained that this is "the longest edition with the most shows we have ever done, as we are trying to create a big picture of what the international scene looks like."

The festival will start earlier than usual with a performance by Fura dels Baus called 'Carmina Burana'. The festival will then resume on the first weekend of October in its usual dates.

That first weekend will kick off with one of the biggest acts, the European project "Shared landscapes." Various international festivals and open-air companies take part in the organization of this performance, which will take place in various areas of the town of Celrà, in Girona, northern Catalonia.
