Stellar year with record numbers for live music in 2022
Companies say 60% rise in revenue compared to 2021 with 15 million spectators
Last year was a record breaking one for the live music industry.
The Enderrock Group and the Professional Association of Representatives, Promoters and Managers of Catalonia (ARC) have presented their annual report with "historic" results.
The total number of spectators at live music events in Catalonia in 2022 climbed to 15 million.
Revenue increased by almost 60% compared to 2021, although this statistic is clearly influenced by the pandemic.
The report also notes that 45% of artists at the main festivals were women.
However, Catalan artists have never featured so little, accounting for only 26% of programmed shows - of which only 17% were performed in the Catalan language.
