Catalan singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz shines on NPR's Tiny Desk
Acclaimed musician becomes third Catalan artist to appear on top American show
Catalan singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz became the latest star to perform a live set for NPR's acclaimed Tiny Desk Concerts series on Monday.
The Palafrugell-born composer, one of the most prominent voices on the Catalan music scene, presented her latest album, Toda la vida, un día.
Pérez Cruz gave a twenty-minute performance in an intimate setting, with violinist Marta Romana and double bassist Agapit Llibori.
With this performance, Pérez Cruz becomes the third Catalan artist to appear on the Tiny Desk Concert.
In April, Catalan folk duo Tarta Relena brought their blend of ancient and modern sounds to NPR, following multi-instrumentalist Lau Noah in 2019.
With more than 1,000 concerts since 2008, NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts have become a benchmark in the global music scene, with performances by the likes of Sting, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Adele.
