Sant Jordi outside of Catalonia: 80 events, 60 cities, and 30 countries
Paris, New York, Panama, Singapore, and Tokyo are among host cities of Catalan culture and literature celebrations

Sant Jordi in Catalonia is one of the most unique days of the year, where people gift books and roses to their loved ones. Cities and towns across the territory fill up with stalls and people walking around carrying a rose or a book.
But there is good news for those elsewhere who are looking to join in the celebrations for Catalonia's most romantic day of the year, with at least 80 Sant Jordi events planned in 60 cities in more than 30 countries worldwide, according to the #BooksAndRoses website.
From poetry readings to human towers, free roses to children's games, various events organized by the delegations of the Catalan government abroad, the Ramon Llull Institute, and Catalan communities living overseas can all be found on booksandroses.cat, with more set to be added in the coming days.
This year, Paris will join the festivities with children's workshops, talks with several authors, and live music from singer Ferran Palau. The two-day event will also see book and rose stalls in the city's Place de Catalogne.
And Sant Jordi is also traveling to the Bermuda Islands, as a local bookstore in Hamilton is organizing a book fair inspired by the Catalan cultural tradition.
New York, Tokyo, Singapore, and Panama are other host cities of several #BooksAndRoses events. And for the first time in many years, Brazil's Rio de Janeiro will also host some events related to Sant Jordi.
