Record 1,580,517 visitors in the Dalí museums in 2013
The Dalí Museums welcomed a total of 1,580,517 visitors in 2013, meaning an 8.42 % increase over 2012. This is the most important figure ever achieved by all three museums of the Dalí Foundation, located in north-eastern Catalonia: the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol (near the Costa Brava) and the artist’s house in Port Lligat, Cadaqués (a Costa Brava town). The Dalí Foundation congratulated itself and insisted such record attendance would spread even further the artist’s legacy in Spain and across the world.
Figueres (ACN).- The Dalí Museums welcomed a total of 1.580.517 visitors in 2013, amounting to an 8.42 % increase over 2012. This is the most important figure ever achieved by all three museums of the Dalí Foundation, located in north-eastern Catalonia: the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol (near the Costa Brava) and the artist’s house in Port Lligat, Cadaqués (a Costa Brava town). The Dalí Foundation congratulated itself and insisted such record attendance would spread even further the artist’s legacy in Spain and across the world. In 2013, the museum that attracted the most visitors was the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres: indeed, it welcomed 1,333,430 people, a 9.36 % increase over the previous year.
While the Figueres museum registered the most significant increase and the highest number of visitors, the other two Dalí museums also attracted more people than in 2012. The Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol registered 136,744 visitors, an increase of 3.27 % over 2012, whereas Dalí’s house on the Costa Brava attracted 110,343 visitors, an increase of 1.16 % compared to 2012.
