The 250-art-piece exhibition will open from October 20 to February 25
The Fundació Joan Miró and the Picasso Museum will launch a unique joint exhibition about thefriendship and collaborations of the two artists.
From October 20 to February 25, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Picasso's death and the 40th anniversary of Joan Miró's death, the two spaces will exhibit more than 250 pieces that have never before been shown in Barcelona.
The art pieces will be lent from public and private collections from across the world.
Some of the paintings that will be displayed in the Catalan capital are 'La masia' and 'Dona, ocell, estrella' by Joan Miró, as well as 'Figueres a la vora del mar' and 'La dona que plora' by Pablo Picasso. These and other paitnings will travel from museums like the Musée National Picasso of Paris, the Centre Pompidou, the Washington National Gallery and the Tate Gallery in London.
The Fundació Joan Miró and the Picasso Museum say it is a unique opportunity for art pieces to leave their usual museums and visit other spaces.
