Netflix to release 'Bird Box Barcelona' on July 14
Àlex and David Pastor film is expansion of 2018 post-apocalyptic thriller
Netflix is to release 'Bird Box Barcelona' on its streaming platform worldwide on July 14.
The film, directed and written by Catalan brothers Àlex and David Pastor is an expansion of the original 2018 post-apocalyptic thriller 'Bird Box,' starring Sandra Bullock.
In the new installment, Sebastian (Mario Casas) must navigate his survival journey through the desolate streets of Barcelona after a mysterious force decimates the world’s population.
As he forms uneasy alliances with other survivors and they try to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows.
The movie, produced by Barcelona-based Nostromo Films, also stars Georgina Campbell, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Diego Calva, Patrick Criado, Lola Dueñas, Gonzalo de Castro, Michelle Jenner and Leonardo Sbaraglia.
It is the not the first time the Pastor brothers have set a film in a deserted Barcelona. Their 2013 film 'The Last Days' explored a similar scenario.
