Montsec Astronomical Park debuts new Pink Floyd audiovisual show through solar system
Immersive experience commemorates 50th anniversary of band's iconic album The Dark Side of the Moon
The Montsec Astronomical Park has joined in the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the iconic Pink Floyd album, 'The Dark Side of the Moon'.
A special new 42-minute immersive audiovisual experience combines the music of the album and spectacular views of the solar system.
The show pairs the music of Pink Floyd played through a surround sound speaker system in a planetarium offering unmatched visuals.
"It’s a very different kind of show than what we’re used to, there’s no narration, no voice," explains Salvador Ribas, the director of the astronomical park.
"It’s just music from the full album. Not in the same order as the album, but rather in an order that goes well with the images," Ribas adds.
Each song has a different theme; some project a futuristic world, while others are a retrospective look at the achievements and visual history of the band.
All songs played are related to an experience of time and space adopting the latest generation technology.
