Barcelona (ACN).- Between the 27th and the 30th of January, representatives from the Mediterranean Fair of Manresa will join in the performance of 'Showcase Scotland'. Showcase Scotland is a delegate based event that brings artistic professionals from all over the world together during one of the largest winter music festivals in the world, Celtic Connections. The annual event, that takes place at the end of January every year in Scotland, kicks off this Thursday in the city of Glasgow with a special collaborative project between Catalan! Music and the Showcase Scotland. At the 13th edition of the Mediterranean Fair of Manresa, it was decided that six Catalan world music groups be in the official programme and would be special guests in 2012.

Catalan artists interested in joining this project can show case themselves at the Mediterranean Fair in Llotja. The Catalan companies that have already said they would participate in the next edition of the Celtic event are Madma (de Manresa), Fourni, Taller de Músics, Imma Payà Management and Els Berros de la Cort.

The Catalan Institute of Cultural Industries, with its brand Catalan! Music Showcase, and Celtic Connections-Showcase Scotland have signed a collaboration agreement until 2013. The agreement signed between both institutions establishes the basis for specific actions in the three editions of Showcase Scotland for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013.

During this year's edition of Showcase Scotland, the work will already begin for Catalonia’s participation in 2012 and 2013.
