Lewis Capaldi cancels Barcelona concert scheduled for September 8
Scottish singer takes a break from stages to get "mental and physical health in order"
Lewis Capaldi has canceled his concert in Barcelona, scheduled for September 8.
The Scottish singer is taking a break at least until the end of the year because of the Tourette's syndrome he has been diagnosed with.
Capaldi last played at Glastonbury festival last weekend but struggled to complete his performance, with fans singing along supporting him when his problems in continuing were evident.
"On Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come," he said in a statement released on his social media profiles.
He had spent three weeks away from stages, and will now resume his break at least until the end of 2023.
"I will be back as soon as I possibly can."
The Barcelona concert was originally scheduled for March 10, but was postponed for "medical reasons" to September.
Global success with 'Someone You Loved'
Yet, the European and UK 2023 of the author of songs such as 'Someone You Loved' will not be completed this year.
Lewis Capaldi achieved global success in 2019 after he released his debut and only album so far, 'Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent,' which has achieved over 10 million sales worldwide, becoming the UK's top seller in both 2019 and 2020.
His hit 'Someone You Loved' was nominated for Song of the Year at the 62nd Grammy Awards and for Song of the Year at the 2020 Brit Awards, as well as another one for Best New Artist.
