“You’re turning six, pick a book!” This campaign's goal is to encourage young readers. With a subsidy of 500,000 euros to the Association of Bookstores in Catalonia (Gremi de Llibreters de Catalunya), the Catalan Ministry of Culture aims to stimulate six year old's reading habits. The campaign’s objective is for kids to explore bookstores in order to motivate them to start creating their own library at home and learn to appreciate books.

The previous campaign ended on June 17 this year. A total of 31,657 children participated, which is 39.1% of Catalonia's 6 year olds. The participants in last year's campaign chose 6,800 different titles, 69.5% of which were in Catalan.
