Harry Potter: The Exhibition opens in Barcelona this weekend
Show offers visitors immersive experience into magical universe, including Hogwarts and Fantastic Beasts
The Harry Potter magic will descend over Barcelona starting on Friday when Harry Potter: The Exhibition will open its doors for the very first time in the Port Vell harbor area of the Catalan capital.
Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the world of Harry Potter and its prequel Fantastic Beasts, and take part in an immersive tour that takes around 60-90 minutes.
"The exhibition is a combination of original props and costumes from all the movies as well as the Broadway shows," said Tom Zaller, CEO of Imagine Exhibitions.
Attendees will be met by captivating interactive narration and music from the movies and treated to behind-the-scenes moments.
"People want to play Quidditch, people want to travel by Portkey, people want to go through the Floo Network, they want to be in the cupboard under the stairs, they want to have a battle with the wand, in here you get to do all that," Zaller added.
Wearing an armband with a built-in chip, visitors can personalize the self-guided tour according to their preferences, choosing their own house, wand and Patronus, one of the books's most famous magic spells.
Attendees will also get to practice 'quidditch', prepare potions, and even do some Mandrake potting.
Philosopher's Stone to Forbidden Forest
In total, there are six rooms. The first one focuses on the Philosopher's Stone to let fans reconnect with the origins of the story. The second room is based on Hogwarts, including an audiovisual experience with iconic creatures such as dementors.
Other rooms relive the experience of being inside the Hogwarts dining room or the different common areas. Hagrid's Hut and the Forbidden Forest will also be recreated.
The traveling exhibition has already been experienced by over 1.6 million people around the world, after opening in Philadelphia, Atlanta, and New York before coming to Europe and Barcelona.
Potterheads can enjoy the show in Barcelona until April 7, 2024.
Harry Potter: The Exhibition was created by Imagine Exhibitions, Warner Bros and EMC Presents and has been touring the world since 2009.
Tickets are available online and range from €19 to €59.
