GREASE The Musical ends its tour in Barcelona 

 

GREASE The Musical will bid farewell to its 3-year long tour in Barcelona. The last show will be performed at Teatre Tívoli, located in Barcelona's neighborhood of L'Eixample. The musical will be only available for a limited time, from March 6 to April 6.  

After more than three years since its premiere, GREASE had been applauded by over 400,000 spectators. For the tour, set pieces for 14-scene changes along with over 200 costumes and 50 wigs, are being transported by seven 24-ton trucks.  

GREASE The Musical tells the story of high school life in a small American town in the 1950s. The 1979 film, starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, made GREASE a well-known musical success. Featuring songs like: ''Hopelessly Devoted To You'' and ''You're The One That I Want''.  

GREASE The Musical has been performed in multiple languages. The Spanish production celebrates the 50th anniversary of a show that has become a musical theatre classic.  

The cast is led by Quique Niza (Danny) and Mia Lardner (Sandy), among others. The song adaptations and lyrics were written by Alejandro Serrano and David Serrano.  

Produced by SOM Produce, known for bringing Matilda, Billy Elliot, and Mamma Mia!  to Spanish audiences, GREASE The Musical is expected to be a major theatrical event.
