Figueres commemorates 120th anniversary of Dalí's birth with exhibition of original drawings
Eight pieces from his youth are on display in the house he was born in, with a restored marble plaque to honor him
Figueres is commemorating the 120th anniversary of Salvador Dalí's birth with an exhibition of the painter's original drawings that can be seen at the house he was born in until September.
The exhibition includes six paintings from the early life of Salvador Dalí with his family and the Empordà area as a background.
Dalí was born in Figueres, northern Catalonia, on May 11, 1904.
On display are also two programs of the Fairs and Festivals of the Holy Cross that the artist made, showing his link with the city of his birth.
These are also pieces loaned by private collections that have never before been exhibited together.
Figueres councilor for cultural facilities, Mariona Seguranyes, has announced that to celebrate the anniversary, the exhibition can be visited for free throughout the weekend.
In addition, a marble plaque in honor of the artist made by Artur Novoa has been restored.
