Elton John adds two Barcelona dates to farewell tour
Veteran rocker to play Palau Sant Jordi on October 2 and 3 next year before stepping down from the stage for good
Music fans are celebrating the announcement that veteran rocker Elton John has added two nights in Barcelona next year to his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
One of the world's best-selling artists, with over 300 million records sold, John will not bid farewell to the stage without saying goodbye to his Catalan fans on October 2 and 3, 2020.
The English singer, pianist and composer, who is currently in the middle of a marathon three-year retirement tour, will perform in Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi stadium.
Tickets for the concerts go on sale on October 10, although they are likely to sell out quickly as people flock to see the living legend perform for probably the last time in Barcelona.
The flamboyant musician with more than fifty top 40 hits to his name last played in the same venue in the Catalan capital in December 2017, before more than 15,000 people.
John kicked off his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in the US in September 2018, and by the time it ends in 2021, he will have performed over 350 concerts.
After a musical career spanning 50 years, Sir Elton John (he was knighted in 1998) is giving up the stage to spend more time with his family, but says he will continue to compose.
