Dance, opera, photo, in memory of Caballé at this year’s Peralada Festival
Names on the lineup include Sondra Radvanovsky, the Mariïnski Ballet, Joseph Calleja, Jessie J, Paul Anka, and more
The 33rd edition of the Peralada Festival this summer will be dedicated to the late soprano Montserrat Caballé, co-founder of the event and a key figure in its projection worldwide. In honor of the soprano who passed away in October, the eclectic festival is set to include an intimate recital by North American soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in Caballé’s memory.
Other acts to look forward to will include the prestigious Mariïnski Theater Ballet from Saint Petersburg with their rendition of ‘The Four Seasons,’ kicking off the event on July 4 for a lineup that will run until August 17.
The Castell de Peralada’s lineup is renowned for its variety and was announced on Friday names like the Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja, English singer-songwriter Jessie J, and Canadian crooner Paul Anka. This, alongside Charlotte Gainsbourg, Juan Diego Flórez, Gustavo Dudamel, and Carlos Acosta.
There are 26 proposals in all, and other elements to look forward to include a new production of Verdi’s iconic ‘La Traviata’ opera, as well as premieres for the La Fura dels Baus company, and for Catalan composer Joan Magrané. This, as well as photo exhibits, electronic and symphony combinations, and much much more.
