Children’s Festival returns to Barcelona with new area for younger visitors
More than 60 activities, including theater and immersive experiences, open until December 31
The Children’s Festival opened its doors on Wednesday at Fira Montjuïc and offers more than 60 cultural, educational, cultural, sports, and leisure-related activities for children of all ages.
This year, the organizers have created a new area called “Espai Mini”, which is dedicated to babies and toddlers under the age of four. The new area includes heuristic and symbolic games, a sensory space, a stage, and a fairytale library, among others.
There are also two theatre stages, one for children and the other for young audiences, and a total of 35 performances will take place during the festival.
Covering over 30,000 square meters, the festival offers activities such as fairytale tours, cooking or painting classes, and bouncy castles, which are “the biggest in all of Catalonia,” according to Anna Ventura, the festival’s director.
Technology and immersive experiences also play an important role in this year's edition.
Held every year since 1963, this year the organizers expect more than 30,000 visitors during the 5-day festival, 5,000 more than the 2022 edition of the festival.
The last day of the festival is December 31.
