Catalonia’s National Archive receives 800 photographs from the Spanish Civil War

The National Archive of Catalonia inaugurated 800 new photographs from the Spanish Civil War into its collection. The photographs will be published as part of the 'Fem Memòria' campaign from the newspaper El Periódico de Catalunya.

Sant Cugat del Vallès (ACN).- The National Archive of Catalonia (ANC) received 800 unedited photographs taken by individuals during the Spanish Civil War between 1936 and 1939. The photographs will be featured as part of the 'Fem Memòria' campaign of the daily newspaper El Periódico de Catalunya. A ceremony was held to inaugurate the new photographs and audiovisual documents into the archive. The Catalan Minister for Culture and Communication, Joan Manuel Tresserras, was in attendance. He stated that the campaign demonstrates “interest and generosity” for many people and “allows for the accumulation of collective patrimony”.
