Catalan hiking center launches micro-story contest on nature and mountains
Participants can submit unpublished texts of up to 30 words in Catalan or Occitan until April 23

The Centre Excursionista de Catalunya (CEC) has opened its third annual short story competition, calling for micro-stories inspired by mountains and nature.
For the second consecutive year, participants can submit entries in either Catalan or Occitan as part of an effort to promote both languages through creative writing.
Each story must be unpublished and no longer than 30 words. The deadline for submissions is April 23, with winners announced in early May.
The award ceremony will take place at the CEC headquarters in Barcelona.
Prizes include a stay at the Aran Hostel in the Pyrenean village Salardú, a book, and technical mountain gear. The jury features editors, cultural curators, and language experts linked to Catalan and Occitan literature and hiking culture.
