Casa Batlló's projection mapping show returns in early February
Audiovisual event designed by artist Quayola will project a nature-inspired illumination on Gaudí's iconic monument
Casa Batlló's façade will be decorated with a new projection mapping show on February 1 and 2. This will be the fourth audiovisual show, which has now become a tradition, after last year's 95,000 spectators attended the free event.
This year's audiovisual show called 'Arborescent' will revolve around nature and imitate its movements and botanical structures.
The Italian artist Quayola behind this year's artwork said that "tree-like shapes" will cover the famous façade of the building on the Passeig de Gràcia boulevard.
This 12-minutes show will play with the architecture to create a moment of enchantment.
Famous for its digital work, Quayola has also created through software the music that will accompany the show.
This initiative of the show inscribes itself in 'The Heritage of Tomorrow' program aiming at a reinterpretation of architect Antoni Gaudí's work by contemporary artists. Since 2021, artists such as Sofía Crespo and Refik Anadol have participated in this event.
This show on Gaudí's famous architectural work will take place every 30 minutes on February 1 and 2 from 7.45 pm to 10.45 pm.
