Cambrils International Music Festival reveals first acts on lineup
Big international names to be disclosed when world tours announced
Some of the names to grace the lineup of the 44th edition of the Cambrils International Music Festival include Al McKay’s Earth Wind & Fire Experience, Jorge Drezler, and Enrique Bunbury, among more big names yet to be announced.
The annual event will take place in the seaside town, south of Barcelona, from July 26 to August 12. Other names on the list are Miguel Poveda, Pastora Soler, and local ska and rumba stars La Pegatina.
More big international names are set to be revealed in the coming weeks. Although confirmed, these artists will be made known once they announce their international tours.
After a controversial and difficult edition last year, in which the event was tainted by the arrest of its previous promoter for fraud, Cambrils is presenting a fully recovered festival. Its budget is set almost one million euros. Tickets are already on sale, costing between ten and sixty euros. The festival attracts about 60,000 spectators.
An act of terror
Last Summer, Cambrils, a popular hotspot with tourists, was also one of the locations of the two terrorist attacks that shocked Catalonia. Not long after a van ploughed through people on La Rambla in Barcelona, five jihadists did the same in Cambrils.
Six citizens and at least one police officer were injured during the terrorist attack, according to emergency services. The suspects were shot dead by Catalan police.
