Bruce Springsteen's guitarist Steve Van Zandt visits Sant Cugat school
Students conduct research project on musician's innovative TeachRock education program
Steve Van Zandt, guitarist for Bruce Springsteen, will visit a school in Sant Cugat, near Barcelona, on Wednesday.
The legendary guitarist has been one the driving force behind TeachRock, an innovative education program created in 2013.
Secondary students at Thau School in Sant Cugat have conducted their research projects on this new educational method, which has sparked Van Zandt's curiosity.
The initiative uses music as an educational tool to create alternative and multicultural programs in subjects like history, arts, music, and science.
The study plan is offered to students and teachers completely free, aiming to complement the regular curriculum and enhance student engagement.
More than 70,000 educators in over 30,000 schools across several countries are enrolled in TeachRock.
Van Zandt's visit comes ahead of Bruce Springsteen's two shows in the Catalan capital this weekend.
