Barcelona Wine Week (BWW) returns February 3 to 5 for its biggest edition yet, bringing together 1,266 exhibitors.
For the first time, the show will occupy two pavilions at the Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc venue – 10,000 square meters of exhibition space, up 38% – and with 33% more wineries than last year.
This “largest edition in history” will feature a hundred medium and small wineries, from wine regions such as Priorat, Cava, Ribera del Duero, and Rioja.
There will also be more than 900 small projects and micro wineries, a winery without a vineyard where the owner must purchase grapes from suppliers instead of growing their own.
During the wine week, there will be an extensive program of wine tastings and talks, including the participation of Raúl Pérez (from the El Bierzo wine region), considered by many as the most influential winemaker in Spain.
The program will also cover other trends, such as the rise of white wines, with sommeliers such as Maria José Huertas and Rodrigo Briseño, both wine-tasting experts.
